Service Description

Rescan's terrestrial group specializes in environmental issues related to vegetation, soil, wildlife and resource management. The environmental scientists at Rescan have a broad range of expertise in the biological sciences, including population, community and behavioral ecology, ecophysiology, conservation biology, biometrics and mathematical modeling of animal and plant populations. We have experience working in arctic and sub-arctic tundra biomes, boreal and temperate deciduous forests, coastal and interior wetlands and tropical-subtropical biomes around the world.

Rescan encourages the active participation of local community experts in field studies, research and monitoring projects. We strive to facilitate and integrate the professional transfer of knowledge in all our projects.

Rescan has developed in-house Geographic Information System (GIS) expertise as a support tool for the services we offer. Spatial data, geographic analysis and derived maps are used in a variety of projects to provide insightful solutions to complex environmental issues. Our GIS capacities include: GPS data collection, translation and mapping, habitat mapping and 3D spatial data rendering among others.
